There is lots of research to show that getting children learning outside is really good for them and helps develop their independence and creativity as well as helping them be calmer and more resilient.

We are planning to get children learning outside for one afternoon a week in blocks of six weeks from half term onwards. Mr Barnard has just completed a full Level 3 Forest School training and will be leading the Forest School Activities with teachers and TAs also working with the children.

We have been working with the pre-school to make a Forest School area on the field –it is a small slice off the edge of the field which will be developed with resources to support outdoor learning in a contained area. We’ll also continue with the Forest School activities in the summer at the Willow and Wetlands centre.
