During the school’s STEM week pupils were challenged to track down the heartless thief who had removed Floppy the dog from Class 1. Two visiting secondary teachers trained the oldest pupils in forensic skills and they then became assistants to help the younger ones take finger prints, use chromatography and investigate suspicious footprints.

Other exciting experiments included ‘How far does a sneeze travel’, ‘Who can make their ballon fly fastest’ and ‘Does plasticine float?’.

We were very grateful to have input from some skilled volunteers who shared their enthusiasm for Science with the children.
